Emcee
An Emcee is a person who acts as a host or as a performer. In the former role, he may announce other speakers and make the welcome address. In the latter role, he may announce other performers to the audience and lead the line-up of wide ranging entertainment. Yet as an organiser, you have spent on much on venue booking, food catering, et cetera, why would having an Emcee add up? Here are the key reasons on why having an Emcee would make your well-organised event into a great one.
Suppose you have a volunteer for an Emcee. Some say he is funny, others say he is hilarious. In general, people who know him like him. It seems enticing to save a few dollars here. However, pressure mounts when the lights get dim and the mic gets hot. Not everyone feel at ease to speak confidently on stage. In fact, only a very small group of people are able to. The last thing you will want to happen as an organiser is to see someone you know on stage cracking under the pressure. Regardless of the purpose of your event, such a distraction would reduce the significance of your event.
Furthermore, having quality sets a professional apart from an amateur. This is a distinct difference. Anyone may be able to joke in an informal setting when a favourable situation arises. However, a professional Emcee is able to magically induce laughter and build rapport with the audience anytime despite not having any connection with them initially. Familiarity with their material enables them to draw on their magic if difficulty arises. Their reliability and dependability to engage and entertain an audience is what makes a professional Emcee highly sought after for events.
Moreover, they have hosted numerous events. This gives them a wealth of experience about actual problems an event would face. While time constraints, technical challenges and other difficulties may appear to have derailed your well-organised event, such crisis may just be a walk in the park for a professional. On the other hand, your worst nightmare may happen if your volunteer loses control and is unable to handle the stress. By passing this apparently challenging task to a professional, you need not worry about unforeseen circumstances because you know that a professional is able to keep everything running smoothly.
At the end of the day, wouldn’t it be great if everyone gets to relax and enjoy your event?
